Welcome to the fifth grade website. This website is maintained by all the 5th grade teachers to include all school events, homework assignments, and assessment information.
Fifth Grade Fundraiser------Movie Night is December 3rd!!
Movie Night is a fundraiser for the 5th grade fund. All money will benefit the end of the year trip to Stone Mountain, as well as other activities. We need parent volunteers to help run the event as well as donations of supplies for the event. Attached is the volunteer form that was sent home.
How to ensure Sucess in 5th Grade...
1. Bring your agenda to school daily. This will help you stay organized with your assignments and dates to remember. Please remember to use the agenda as a form of communication between home and school.
2. Missing Classwork/Homework Policy- Each Thrusday students will be notified of missing assignments. They will have until the following Tuesday to complete these assignments and submit for a grade. Any assignments not turned in after this second opportunity will be counted as a 0.

Homework
Students will turn in their HW at the beginning of each period. At the end of each week, students will be reminded of any missing HW and/or classwork.
Important Update: Silly Bands are not allowed at school. Thanks!
Curriculum Planning...
In order to better prepare our students for middle school, our 5th grade team has departmentalized. This means that your child will either have two or three teachers teaching them the core subjects. All students will have a homeroom teacher that they will begin and end each day with. It is the responsiblity of the student to stay organized and make sure they are aware of what is due in each of their academic classes.
TEXTBOOKS
Students will be issused a math, science, social studies, reading, and language arts textbook. Students will be allowed to take their backpack and materials between all three/two classes. It is their responsibility to make sure they have their pencil, HW, and textbook for each class.

Absences/Tardy Info....
If your child is absent or tardy, please send in a note the following day to become excused. We must have a written note to file for an excused absence or tardy. It is extremely important for all students to be ON TIME each day to school.
